POLICE OFFICER

The Erlanger Police Department is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of full-time Police Officer. Kentucky Certified Officers are encouraged to apply. At the time of appointment applicants must meet the following conditions:

* Is a citizen of the United States;

Is at least 21 years of age;

* Is a high school graduate or has successfully completed a General Educational Development (G.E.D.) examination;

* Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle;

* Has been fingerprinted for a criminal background check;

* Has not been convicted of a felony;

* Is not prohibited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm;

* Has been interviewed;

* Has undergone a background investigation;

* Has taken a polygraph examination;

* Has taken a suitability screener;

* Has passed a drug screening test;

* Discharged under honorable conditions, if having served in the armed services;

* Has received and read the Kentucky Law Enforcement Officer’s Code of Ethics;

Applicants must fill out a City of Erlanger application; provide a resume and cover letter to the Director of Human Resources for the City of Erlanger, 505 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018 no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 28th, 2017.

All applicants are required to take the written exam and PT test which will be administered on May 6, 2017. There is a $15.00 fee for the written test payable by cash or check only.

Lateral Candidates must possess a valid P.O.P.S certification or out-of-state equivalent recognized by The Department of Criminal Justice Training. You must complete all Erlanger Police Department tests, including written, physical fitness, and medical. A background investigation including a polygraph and Department interview will also be conducted.
